AMD, Lucid, and Razer unveil groundbreaking advancements in AI, EVs, and gaming at CES. The episode highlights technological strides that promise to reshape data centers, autonomous vehicles, and gaming ecosystems.

What Happened

AMD CEO Lisa Su introduced the MI455, a two-nanometer chip for corporate data centers, boasting 320 billion transistors and designed to significantly enhance compute capabilities. Set for release in 2026, this chip positions AMD to support the anticipated growth of AI users from 1 billion to 5 billion over the next five years. Su also unveiled plans for the MI500, a chip expected to be 1000 times more powerful than the MI300 series, scheduled for 2027.

Lisa Su discussed AMD's strategic collaborations with partners like OpenAI and Oracle to foster an open AI ecosystem. AMD aims to increase global compute power by 100 times in the next 4-5 years, introducing new concepts such as the 'Yottaflop'. Despite regulatory challenges, AMD is pursuing licenses to sell its chips in China, viewing it as a crucial market.

Lucid Interim CEO Marc Winterhoff detailed the company's collaboration with Neuro and Uber to launch a new autonomous vehicle by the end of the year. Lucid is also working with Nvidia to integrate Nvidia Drive into its vehicles, such as the Lucid Gravity. The company plans to achieve Level 3 autonomous driving by 2028 and Level 4 by 2029.

Winterhoff addressed Lucid's supply chain improvements, noting a more than 100% increase in production year-over-year despite challenges in 2025. Lucid plans to localize battery production in the U.S. to avoid tariffs and maintain its position as a luxury manufacturer, steering clear of lower price segments.

Razer CEO Min-Liang Tan highlighted the company's investment of $600 million in AI to enhance gaming experiences. Razer is focusing on R&D, talent, and compute to create innovative products like Project Motoko headphones, which feature dual 4K cameras and real-time translation capabilities.

Tan emphasized that AI will augment, not replace, gaming development, offering more immersive and competitive experiences. With over 150 million users and 70,000 developers on its platform, Razer is poised to lead in the AI gaming ecosystem.
